Installation

This page explains how to install and activate WebDev CRM inside WordPress, and what to expect once it’s running.

WebDev CRM installs like a standard WordPress plugin. There are no external services required to get started, and no configuration is needed to explore the core workflow.

System Requirements

Before installing, make sure your environment meets the following requirements:
  • Wordpress 6.0 or higher
  • PHP 8.0 or higher
  • MySQL 5.7+ or MariaDB equivalent
  • Administrator Access to the Wordpress Dashboard
WebDev CRM is designed to run entirely inside WordPress and does not rely on third-party SaaS infrastructure.

Installing The Plugin

Option 1: Install from the WordPress Dashboard

  • Log in to your WordPress admin area.
  • Navigate to Plugins → Add New.
  • Search for WebDev CRM.
  • Click Install, then Activate.
  • Accept the T&C's
  • Enter your Plugin Licence key (Optionally you can skip this step and use the Free Version)
Once activated, WebDev CRM will appear in the WordPress admin menu.

Option 2: Install via ZIP Upload

If you have a ZIP file:
  • Go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin.
  • Upload the WebDev CRM ZIP file.
  • Click Install Now, then Activate.
  • Accept the T&C's
  • Enter your Plugin Licence key (Optionally you can skip this step and use the Free Version)

Activation and First Run

On activation, WebDev CRM:
  • Registers it's Database Tables
  • Adds its Admin Menu
  • Prepares the core workflow (Contacts, Quotes, Invoices, Projects)
No demo data is added by default. This keeps the system clean and predictable.

If you deactivate the plugin, no data is removed.

Licensing (If Appicable)

Licensing is per Website. So, if you're activating the plugin for the first time you will be prompted to enter your license key, or you can optionally choose free installation - and upgrade later inside the plugin if you wish to do so.

Licensing controls capacity limits, not features. Core functionality is available immediately.

After Installation

Once you have installed the plugin, it is advised that most users start with:
  • Reviewing Core Concepts to understand how workflow is structured
  • Creating a test contact or company
  • Creating a first quote, invoice or project to explore the plugins core functionality
WebDev CRM is designed so you can safely explore without committing data or configuration.

Troubleshooting Installation

If the plugin doesn't activate:
  • Ensure your PHP version meets the minimum requirement
  • Check for fatal errors in your server logs
  • Temporarily disable other plugins to rule out conflicts
If problems persist, refer to the Troubleshooting & FAQ section and then email support.

Next Steps

  • Core Concepts – understand how WebDev CRM is structured
  • Quotes – create your first agreement
  • Invoices – turn approved work into payment
